We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our newly established Global Institutional Accounting team in the role of 'Vice President II, Accounting'. This exciting position is based in Wrocław, Poland (hybrid).

Global Institutional Accounting (GIA) offers portfolio accounting and reporting services to BNYM clients, ensuring the timely delivery of audited market valuations and transaction details for portfolios.

The Accounting Service Experts team collaborates closely with clients to produce daily and monthly valuations and deliver comprehensive investment reports in compliance with service agreements, internal protocols, and legal standards.

Here's how you can make an impact in this role:

  • Lead a team of Investment Reporting Administrators, overseeing accounting services such as net asset value determination, fund performance calculation, expense allocation, and report preparation. Address escalated issues and set team priorities.
  • Recruit, guide, motivate, and develop staff members to maximize their contributions, professional growth, and teamwork abilities.
  • Support the Group Manager in optimizing business operations, enhancing controls, and driving operational efficiencies to deliver superior client service.
  • Manage tasks related to timely service delivery for clients, including NAV determination, fund performance calculation, expense allocation, and report preparation.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis and lead engagements across business areas, identifying trends, performing root cause analysis, and implementing recommendations.
  • Collaborate within the team to ensure adherence to client service level agreements and address client requests effectively.
  • Act as a high-level escalation point for complex situations and ensure successful resolutions.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers from other departments to assess issues and devise improvement strategies, contributing to the development of Accounting function procedures and processes.

To excel in this role, we require the following:

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills (English proficiency at minimum B/C level).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience (a minimum of several years within a similar role).
  • Background in financial services is essential, with institutional accounting process experience being advantageous, along with knowledge of Institutional Accounting System (IAS) and local financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent technical and numerical skills, including data manipulation, analysis, and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
