Job Title: Vice President, Sourcing II

Your role will make a difference through the following key responsibilities:

  • Act as a pivotal member of the Enterprise Sourcing Office.
  • Collaborate with BNYM's IT department to devise solutions and strategies in alignment with business needs and opportunities, overseeing processes such as RFPs, auctions, supplier consolidation initiatives, and commercial negotiations.
  • Lead intricate contract negotiations with a deep understanding of supplier agreements, managing various complex contract issues effectively.
  • Contribute to achieving business area goals, including annual savings targets.
  • Independently assess and analyze contract requirements, communicate them efficiently, and take appropriate actions to address these needs.
  • Handle sourcing contracts autonomously and oversee contract administration for a range of contracts across diverse IT categories globally.
  • Collaborate with the Legal department to negotiate procurement contracts based on end-user specifications.
  • Act as the direct liaison with suppliers during contract negotiations.
  • Possess financial acumen and Excel proficiency to evaluate supplier proposals' financial and business terms effectively.
  • Skillfully present business justifications to senior management and create approval requests using PowerPoint.
  • Develop expertise in product/vendor knowledge across multiple technology categories.
  • Demonstrate a profound understanding of a given technology category, including the current economic landscape, supplier product costs, and competitive market scenarios.
  • Represent the IT Sourcing Group in stakeholder and business partner meetings focusing on both short and long-term business needs.
  • Act as a reliable partner for internal clients, organizing regular meetings to review and prioritize deal pipelines and identify engagement opportunities proactively.
  • This role does not involve direct supervision of reports.

To excel in this position, we are looking for the following qualifications:

  • Considerable years of work experience, understanding procurement and sourcing processes, and familiarity with specific categories preferred.
  • Proficiency in negotiating commercial and legal terms with strategic IT suppliers across relevant categories such as hardware, software, cloud, and networking.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience is a prerequisite.
  • Ideally, a background in Business or Supply Chain management.
