A global top ten industrial battery manufacturer is seeking a Sales Manager to grow our European business. The successful candidate will generate engineered product sales in Poland and the EU. Ideally the candidate will have an electrical engineering, battery or electronics background. A degree in a relevant discipline is preferred. You should have significant experience in industrial technology or battery sales and the drive to build our business with our wide portfolio. We expect you to become knowledgeable in our products / applications, and contribute proactively to our sales drive into the transportation, datacenters, power utility and particularly power systems OEM markets.

HBL will provide product specific product training. Travel to India will be required.

Your responsibilities in this position would include:

  • Generating profitable sales of HBL industrial batteries in Europe against targets agreed with the Regional Director.
  • Business expansion in Poland, Germany and the wider EU – with a focus on Siemens, Benning, Gustav Klein and data centres/commercial UPS companies and owners.
  • Presenting HBL products to potential clients through direct communication, face to face meetings where necessary, telephone calls and emails.
  • Travel to customers across Europe will be required.
  • Closing new business deals by coordinating customer requirements; developing and negotiating contracts.
  • Customer support by phone, mail and direct visits
  • Provide market feedback to HBL management on pricing, competition, product opportunities.
  • Responsible for lead generation and follow up.
  • To be accountable to deliver proposals, contracts and any providing further documentation in support of the assigned clients that has been generated by the support team in India.
  • Requirements:

  • Five years’ experience in Technical Sales, Marketing, or related commercial business function
  • Bachelor’s degree - Engineering degree preferred.
  • Good English language capabilities – written and spoken.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills. Proficient in use of common business software – Word, Excel, Web
  • High level of communication skills and ability to establish and maintain long-term relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate an aptitude for reading, understanding and responding to technical specifications.
  • Entrepreneurial behavior
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities using web research tools / sector specific targeting and ability to approach new clients.
  • EU passport and driving license.
