Role purpose
To sustain its growth, A&O Shearman is currently looking for a Junior Associate to join our Competition practice group in Warsaw.
Responsibilities
Carrying out legal analysis on the basis of competition law, consumer protection regulations, state aid, unfair use of contractual advantage or foreign direct investment regulationsAssisting in merger proceedings and investigations before the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (President of the OCCP) and the European CommissionConducting internal and external trainings and seminarsSupporting other team members in all activities and tasks typical for various competition and consumer protection investigations
Requirements
Minimum 2/3 years of experience in a recognised competition law practiceAdvanced knowledge and use of Polish and EU competition law regulations and decisional practice of the President of the OCCP and the European CommissionAbility to prepare and manage simple merger filing notifications Knowledge and interest in consumer protection regulationsBD skills: preparing client seminars, presentations, legal alerts and market updatesTime management skillsExcellent knowledge of legal English and good legal drafting skills Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills (both in Polish and English)Motivation to learn and ability to adapt to a dynamic working environment
