Who we are looking for
A candidate with 3 plus years’ experience in the financial services industry, preferably with a large global financial institution, you will preferably have some markets experience. Strong proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel. Programming languages to perform data analysis and regular reporting documents analysing large data sets and development of different tools using Python and VBA. Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. A desire to learn, grow and develop into the position as part of a global Capital Markets team, working with colleagues across EMEA, the Americas and APAC. Strong attention to detail and a desire to drive innovation and automation in daily tasks working with senior members of the team. Help monitor secondary market quality (e.g. secondary markets spreads, depth of book, and premium/discounts) to ensure consistency and competitiveness of SPDR. Conduct extensive and comprehensive AP Oversight and Contractual Market Maker reviews, working within the Markets Oversight function and other internal teams Ideal candidate should possess a strong commercial drive to drive business results and take ownership of personal contributions to the business.What you will be responsible for
The Capital Markets Specialist will be responsible for supporting our Markets Oversight team in a junior capacity, working with other team members on the delivery best-in-class secondary markets spreads, operational procedures and Authorised Participant and Contractual Market Maker Oversight. In addition, the Capital Markets Specialist will interact with other parts of SPDR ETFs and State Street Global Advisors; including Product Development and Strategy, ETF Strategy, Marketing, COO, and Sales and Distribution.
Act as a day-to-day support for Markets Oversight helping cover Authorised Participants and Contractual Market Makers in trading related queries. Proactively assist in developing new business relationships across Europe that will drive both best-in-class secondary market spreads and customer experience for liquidity providers in SPDR ETFs. Work closely with internal stakeholders to support the delivery Capital Markets collateral, including regular reports, that generates interest in SPDR UCITS ETFs. Actively support internal SPDR Sales efforts by connecting internal SPDR clients to quality spreads, potential market inventories in SPDR ETFs and working closely with Contractual Market Makers to ensure contractually consistent performance. Provide support for the ongoing maintenance of B2B account plans for APs and dealing desks – assist in the execution of priorities to support SPDR business, help support senior members of the team with servicing clients across EMEA. Assist in the management of new ETF launches, coordinate with internal teams, and APs and Exchanges on new listings. Assist in projects and working groups to support ETF ecosystem improvements. Assist in ensuring support from the broker dealer, market maker and Exchange communities for SPDR priorities as it relates to market making, distribution, and product innovation and enhancements working with other senior members of the Capital Markets team.Why this role is important to us

Internal Partnerships Specific to the SPDR Business, you will work collaboratively with: Distribution ETF Sales Strategy Marketing Product External Partnerships Authorised Participants, including ETF Sales & Trading, Equity Portfolio Sales & Trading, FICC Sales & Trading, and where applicable, Equity Derivatives Sales & Trading and Prime Brokerage desks. Contractual Market Makers Exchanges Data Vendors (including Bloomberg)Requirements
Bachelor’s degree of Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or a similar field. 3 plus years’ of experience in the financial services industry – ETF Trading and pricing, market making, risk management/liquidity preferable, but not required. Knowledge of ETF mechanics – create/redeem process, fees, ETF clearing and settlement operations, and custody is a plus, but not a requirement. Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel skills, VBA, PowerPoint, Word and Bloomberg. Programming languages (Python, BQNT, others) a plus. Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate industry and product knowledge. Strong aptitude for multi-tasking on project work and strategic initiatives. Strong commitment to delivering business results as part of a broader team. Enthusiasm for the industry, a positive attitude, and a drive to succeed. You have strong ethics and integrity with a strong risk radar and dedicated approach to resolve issues. You have professional curiosity to identify and drive improvements and opportunities with a willingness to get into the detail and frame the solution.
