Reporting Senior Subject Matter Expert

To our Global Finance Service Centre based in Gdańsk, we are looking for experienced RTR Senior SME Reporting who will be responsible for the start-up and development of a reporting function which will underpin the operations of GSS UK and the Centre of Excellence.

What you’ll do:

The post holder will be responsible for the development of reporting to support the activities of the GSS UK team, drawing on:

Knowledge and understanding of the operational risks, concerns and commitments of the Delivery Pillar Leads/Senior Leadership Team members Performance improvement initiatives being worked on by the Performance Improvement teams Continuous improvement initiatives running across the delivery towers under the scope of the delivery leads and the Head of Finance Services The operational knowledge of the delivery leads/delivery tower leads and their teams The post holder will therefore need to manage these competing priorities in order to shape a reporting agenda for the Head of Finance Services which they will then be accountable for delivering.

The reporting capability that the role will develop will centre on three main axes of content:

Reporting the core metrics that underpin the reporting and processing activity of the GSS operation, focused on efficiency and effectiveness Reporting of metrics and trends that demonstrate commercial insight derived from the processing activity performed by the GSS operation Statutory reporting and management reporting required of the GSS operation – for example, the existing Prompt Payment Code reporting and monthly Customer Service packs

The post holder will be responsible for the:

Design, development, piloting and productionisation of metrics, reporting, trend analysis and commentary to support GSS activity and outputs Production of reliable reporting once an initiative has been proven as viable and value-adding, and the move of the production to PowerBI and other automation tools Value-adding deliverables include: Innovative, additional reporting to support the GSS service offering, highlighting potential areas for improvement and tracking the impact of existing initiatives Automation of reporting solutions to free resource for incoming pipeline projects As the reporting capability of the function develops, the role-holder will be responsible for the management and personal development of a small team.

As part of the wider Finance Services team, the post holder will need to contribute to the success of that team by:

Adhering to UK and group accounting policies and procedures Assisting, where required, on projects relating to analysis, reporting, and process improvement Participating as required as a team member in other special projects Mentoring more junior team members Carrying out any other ad hoc duties, as and when required

The role is accountable for:

The delivery of an increasing portfolio of reporting and analysis of both financial and operational performance A pipeline of innovation – new ideas for trialling and piloting reporting solutions transition of manual reporting into automated or PowerBI solutions to transition to production and BAU use Alignment of pipeline and workload to ensure consistency with the priorities of the Head of Finance Services, the Delivery Pillar Leads and the ISS UK business

Professional skills you possess:

Qualifications:

Ideally: University Degree Ideally: Qualified Accounting Qualification: ACCA, ACA, CIMA More important than the financial qualification is a clear ability to demonstrate how to deliver commercial value, insight and waste elimination through the identification, design and development of metrics and reporting in analysing a dataset

Experiences:

Extensive experience in a reporting role Excellent working knowledge of processes within Payables, Receivables and General Ledger Experience/knowledge of Navision is preferable Experience in a similar role within a multi-site business is desirable Prior experience of working with an outsourced Finance Shared Service Centre is preferable but not mandatory

Skills:

Customer focussed and target driven Forward thinking, with a “can do” attitude Strong analytical and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to tight deadlines Ability to understand the detail behind processes Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders Good level of IT skills including intermediate/advanced MS Excel
