**Staff Accountant Role Overview**

This Staff Accountant position is part of the Global Business Services group and reports to the Lead Contract Accountant.

The role will focus on preparing billing documentation in accordance with contractual terms and partnering with project teams to ensure high-quality invoices are issued to customers.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with project managers and teams to issue accurate customer invoices that meet internal control requirements, contract terms, and customer expectations.
  • Ensure billing plans and milestones align with executed customer sales orders and project plans. Identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare complex billing documentation and reconcile billing plans with ledgers and contractual information.
  • Investigate and resolve past due payments, duplicate or short payments, or unallocated cash to ensure timely collections.
  • Maintain explanations for aging receivables on the accounts receivable weekly report.
  • Take proactive steps to ensure invoices are properly sent and received by customers.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers, addressing outstanding issues promptly.
  • Provide backup support to other accountants and participate in training new staff members.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as requested to support Westinghouse's evolving business needs.
Qualifications and Requirements:**
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience in cash applications, billing, and collections.
  • Up to 3 years of experience preferred, but no experience required.
  • Proficiency in ERP and Financial Reporting Software, preferably SAP.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to take initiative to learn and improve current operations.
  • Effective communication and diplomacy skills, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of common MS Office applications, such as Excel and Word.
  • Fluency in English and Polish languages.
