GL Accounting Controller

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled GL Accounting Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and approving journal entries, partnering with the Finance Department on budget and forecast variances, and performing various financial analyses and operating statistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries prepared by team members
  • Partner with the Finance Department on budget and forecast variances
  • Perform financial analysis and operating statistics, including month-to-month balance sheet fluctuations
  • Approve wire requests up to approved dollar amounts
  • Provide technical advice and training on accounting systems
  • Serve as primary contact with internal and external auditors on accounting matters
  • Interpret current policies, practices, and plans, and implement new operating procedures to improve efficiency
  • Ensure systems follow acceptable accounting practices and applicable regulations
  • Apply deep knowledge of multiple disciplines, including local law, US GAAP, local GAAP, direct/indirect taxes, and commercial awareness
  • Drive financial and functional performance within disciplines and across business
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values
  • Negotiate with senior management, customers, and external parties to reach strategic agreements
  • Conceptualize new methods, techniques, processes, and standards across job disciplines or functions
  • Direct the resolution of complex or unusual business problems
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and present results to stakeholders
  • Prepare statutory accounts in cooperation with external consultants
  • Perform month-end close activities to ensure completeness and accuracy of postings

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, with 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Ability to exchange sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems
  • Leadership skills to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Expert organizational skills with an unrivaled inquisitive mindset
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Polish GAAP, Polish tax and statutory regulations
  • Experience working with at least one widely used ERP system, such as PSFT or iScala
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Accounting qualification is a plus
