General Ledger Specialist (Italian speaker) - 6 months contract

Main characteristic of the role:

The GL Accountant is responsible for maintaining all aspects of accounts receivables, accounts payable, general ledger, and associated internal controls. In support of business controller initiatives, the Accountant ensures compliant, timely, and accurate country internal and external reporting.

Main accountabilities of the role:

  • Maintain transaction processes and systems to ensure effective financial reporting and operational information;
  • Prepare journal entries, recurring and allocation journal entries, and gather adequate supporting documentation;
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing;
  • Perform timely and accurate internal and external reporting based on IFRS, Local GAAP from government and compliance to internal policies;
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements as well as internal controls;
  • Update and maintain financial reports on a regular basis;
  • Provide information for statutory returns for tax, VAT, and other government departments to external consultants, and ensure the submission to relevant authorities in time;
  • Prepare tax return, declaration, and the related documentation requested by tax authority;
  • Manage fixed assets;
  • Reconcile balance sheets;
  • Supports Business Controller in:
  • planning and control cycles: strategic plan, budgeting, forecasting, monthly analyses, and interpretation of results;
  • implementing internal processes and procedures;
  • ad hoc analysis and business cases;
  • Identify areas for improvement in the internal information systems and processes;
  • Other assigned activities.

Requirements

  • Educational Level: Bachelor Level
  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience / 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Italian language: at least B2 level
