Business Unit Parts and Field Service in Marine Power is looking to welcome an enthusiastic Senior Service Engineer to join our team. The role is offered on a permanent basis and will be based in Gdansk, Poland.
As a Senior Service Engineer, your responsibilities for the role include:
- Performing mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on Wärtsilä products or similar medium bore diesel engines.
- Engine component overhauls in workshop and on site, including some in situ machining.
- Checking and adjusting relevant systems (i.e. auxiliary equipment).
- Pre-commissioning and mechanical commissioning of engines.
- Identifying failures, making adjustments, assisting on trial runs, and testing of mechanical installations according to instructions.
- Providing internal and external work reports in accordance with Wärtsilä standards.
- Collecting and organizing time and expense reports, informing administrative personnel as required.
To be successful in this role, we expect you have:
- B. Sc. / High School Diploma / Technical School / Vocational School (preferably Marine, Mechanical).
- Strong knowledge of auxiliary equipment.
- Electrical troubleshooting skills are considered an advantage.
- Good command of English and Polish, both written and verbal.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Desire to work in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Motivation to learn and grow professionally.
- Willingness to travel at least 7-8 months per year.
- Experience of generating technical reports.
