The College of Humanities and Foreign Languages announces an Open Competition for the position of Lecturer. Speciality: Polish for foreigners, Selected aspects of Polish culture (in English), subjects for foreigners.

Requirements

Research Field: Arts » Performing arts

Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent

Candidates entering the competition shall be obliged to:

  1. Meet the requirements specified in Article 113 and 114, 115 of the Act of 20.07.2018 "Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571)".
  2. Hold a Master's diploma (Doctoral degree will be an additional asset) in the area of humanities.
  3. Be qualified to teach Polish language.
  4. Know English at least at C1 level and be able to teach in this language.
  5. Have at least 5 years of teaching experience at the academic level in teaching Polish language for foreigners and/or subjects related to Polish language and culture for foreigners (also with English as the language of instruction).

Required documents:

  1. Application for participation in the Competition addressed to the Rector of UMFC.
  2. Certified copy of Master's diploma.
  3. Documents certifying seniority in higher education.
  4. Personal questionnaire (in compliance with the UMFC's specimen).
  5. Curriculum vitae with particular reference to the work of teaching.
  6. Declaration of permission to have one's personal data processed (in compliance with the UMFC's specimen).
  7. Certificate of clear criminal record of intentional or fiscal offence (in compliance with the UMFC's specimen).

Years of Research Experience: 4 - 10

Responsibilities:
  • Educate and coach students and other participants in the studies conducted by the University and the College.
  • Participate in the organisational work of the University and the College.
  • Supervise the preparation of credit, term papers by students in terms of content and methodology.
  • Participate in the meetings of the College.
  • Improve their qualifications.
  • Participate in examination committees of all forms of studies functioning at the University.
  • Comply with the weekly working hours of an academic teacher.
  • Have knowledge of the Statutes, Work Regulations and Study Regulations of UMFC to the extent that they are able to function properly within the structures of the University.

The competition will be resolved on 20.05.2025 by a selection committee established for this purpose.

The results of the Competition shall be known by 15.09.2023.

Positive results of the Competition shall not guarantee employment at the position of lecturer.

The working hours will be established in the concluded employment contract, according to the needs of UMFC.
