Chief Accountant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Accountant to join our team in France. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the tax and statutory affairs of one of our production plants in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support local statutory compliance, including VAT returns, payroll, tax returns, and other local submissions.
  • Cooperate with local tax advisors and financial controllers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting under group IFRS standards.
  • Verify and prepare CIT and VAT tax returns, as well as internal and external financial reports for management and external institutions.
  • Maintain control over documents, report timely following group standards, and provide input to judgment journals required during period-end processes.
  • Ensure period-end processes are executed in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of experience in accounting, with a minimum of 2 years as Chief Accountant or General Ledger Manager.
  • A higher education degree in a relevant field (finance, accounting, economics).
  • Perfect knowledge of legal and regulatory issues.
  • Experience in an international manufacturing company is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Fluency in both English and French (C1) is a must.
  • The ability to support decisions and influence business counterparts.
