The Strategic Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with the organization's overall goals. This role will involve analyzing market trends, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing procurement processes to drive cost efficiency and value creation.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that support business objectives.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings and value enhancement.
  • Develop and own overall GSP Reporting framework, ensuring that materials and information are clear, consistent, and aligned with Group reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives: Formulate and execute strategic plans that align with the organization's goals, focusing on optimizing processes, enhancing efficiency, and driving overall business performance.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, potential risks, and opportunities, ensuring the organization stays ahead of competitors and adapts to changing market conditions.
  • Work closely with various departments (e.g., finance, operations, marketing) to ensure alignment on strategic objectives, facilitating communication and cooperation to achieve common goals.
  • Manage and coordinate all wider GSP programme initiatives, highlighting and driving interdependencies and reporting, and communicating closely with delivery teams and customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Set the strategy for GSP functions in collaboration with Group, other entities, and other AXA XL functions, contributing to related projects for other areas.

You will report to the Head of Strategy & Operations.

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Previous direct experience with Sourcing and Procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaboratively lead change projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent people management skills – Ability to engage all stakeholders, from the field to the C-suite.
  • Experience in driving Procurement improvement programmes across process, technology, and people.
  • Experience in developing change communications in complex organizations.
  • Proficient at using various analytical and visualization tools.
  • Robust influencing and engagement ability; adept at building relationships and credibility.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business will be an asset.
