The Department of Operations Research and Business Intelligence invites applications for an Assistant teaching position. The successful applicant is expected to engage in teaching and organizational activities of the Department and the University.

Keywords: statistics, computer simulations, applications of computer science in management

A successful candidate is expected to:

  • Be an able lecturer in Polish and in English, in particular in the area of statistics, strive to raise the quality of academic teaching.
  • Actively participate in research seminars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Develop cooperation in teaching with centers in Poland and abroad.
  • Carry out organizational work for the Department and the University.

Requirements

Research Field: Management sciences

Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge in the application of simulation methods in management, in agent-based simulations.
  • Skills needed to implement algorithms and perform statistical analyses in Matlab, Python, or R.
  • Experience of university lecturing.
  • Proficiency in Polish and English.
  • Scientific achievements in international journals and active participation in international scientific conferences will be an added value.

Additional Information:

  • An information on experience in acquiring research projects, participation in the research work of the unit and collaboration with external partners;
  • An information on experience in reviewing scientific papers (number and type of reviews developed);
  • An information on work in editorial boards of national and international journals;
  • A list of teaching activities carried out (with an indication of the language of these classes);
  • An information on experience in the preparation of teaching materials (textbooks, scripts) and/or laboratory stations, number of promoted graduates, supervision of foreign students;
  • A list of academic and teaching awards and honours;
  • An information on organisational experience (in terms of organising and managing scientific and teaching activities);
  • An information on experience in spreading scientific awareness in society (popular science, technical publications; participation in Science Festival, etc.);
  • An information on the level of proficiency in Polish (in the case of foreigners), English, and other languages (certificates);
  • Other important achievements.

The date of receipt of the documents is decisive. The date of receipt of application documents is considered to be 3.30 pm on the day indicated in the information about the competition. Receipt of the documents from the candidate will be confirmed by the assistant/HR assistant via e-mail to the address indicated in the application.

Candidates' applications will be evaluated by the Competition Committee appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Management. After the competition procedure is closed, the applications of persons who have not been accepted for work will be returned, provided that they were sent by traditional mail. People interested in having their documents back will be able to pick them up from the assistant/HR assistant within 6 months after the competition procedure is closed, against acknowledgment of receipt.
