Dean of Instrumental Department of the UMFC announces an Open Competition for the Assistant position, for whom the UMFC will be first place of employment. Speciality: viola playing. Major: Instrumental Studies.

Candidates entering the competition shall be obliged to:

  1. Meet the requirements specified in Article 113 and 114, 115 of the Act of 20.07.2018 "Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024. item 1571)"
  2. Hold a Master's diploma in Music in the artistic discipline- speciality: instrumental studies
  3. Have achievements and attainments in artistic activity

Required documents:

  • Application for participation in the competition addressed to the Rector of the UMFC;
  • Certified copy of the degree of Master of Music in the artistic discipline - instrumentalist;
  • Lists and documentation (photocopies) of the course of professional work: artistic and didactic;
  • Personal questionnaire (according to the UMFC template);
  • Statement of consent to the processing of personal data contained in the submitted documents in connection with participation in the competition (print according to the UMFC template to be downloaded from the website);
  • Statement of no criminal record for an intentional crime or intentional fiscal crime;
Competition requirements

- Performance before the Commission of about 20 minutes of a program selected from the following repertoire items submitted (UMFC does not provide a pianist-co-recorder):

  • Any viola concerto (part 1);
  • Any sonata for viola and piano (2 selected movements);
  • Two movements of any Suite, Sonata or Partita by J. S. Bach in transcription for solo viola.

- Conducting a teaching session with a student designated by UMFC (approx. 20 min.);

- Holding an interview (approx. 20 min.);

Languages: POLISH Level Good

Years of Research Experience: 4 - 10

The date of announcement of the competition is April 9, 2025.

Documents should be submitted by May 15, 2025, by e-mail to: instrumentalistyka@chopin.edu.pl or in person: to the Dean's Office of the Instrumental Faculty (room 306).

Settlement of the competition will take place by September 20, 2025, by the competition commission appointed for this purpose.

Positive resolution of the competition does not constitute a guarantee of employment.

Responsibilities:
  • Improving one's qualifications;
  • Educating and educating students and other participants in studies conducted by the University and the Faculty;
  • Participating in the organizational work of the University and the Faculty;
  • Participating in the artistic activities of the University and the Faculty;
  • Supervising the credit, semester and diploma theses prepared by students, in terms of content and methodology;
  • Belonging to one of the Faculties operating at UMFC and participating in its work;
  • Participating in the meetings of one's Faculty;
  • Conducting scientific activities;
  • Participation in semester and annual examination committees of all forms of studies functioning at the Faculty, including internship examinations;
  • Participation in committees of entrance examinations according to appointments determined by the Dean;
  • Participation in qualifying auditions for artistic endeavors undertaken at the Faculty - according to the Dean's instructions;
  • Participating in other departmental examinations - according to the Dean's instructions;
  • Adhering to the weekly working hours of an academic teacher;
  • Being familiar with the Statute, the Work Regulations and the Study Regulations of the UMFC to the extent that it is possible to function properly within the structures of the University.
Information on the processing of personal data in connection with participation in the competition:

The administrator of the personal data contained in the documents submitted by you in connection with your application for employment at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music is the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music with its registered office at 2 Okólnik Street in Warsaw.
