Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Control & Reporting: Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and Local GAAP.
  • General Ledger Management: Oversee the Chart of Accounts and ensure proper ledger reconciliations.
  • Regulatory & Management Reporting: Implement and enhance financial, regulatory, and management reporting solutions.
  • Investment Banking Focus: Ensure accurate accounting treatment for bonds, derivatives, and other financial instruments.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior stakeholders, auditors, and regulators.
  • ERP & Systems Knowledge: Utilize SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems for financial processes.
  • Project Management: Contribute to project testing cycles and drive finance transformation initiatives.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide insights and recommendations based on data governance concepts and financial regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive efficiency in financial processes and compliance frameworks.
  • Controllers Coverage: Work across various financial control functions, including Banking Controllers, Markets Controllers, Services Controllers, and Wealth Controllers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA/CA/MBA (Finance) preferred.
  • Experience: 6-8 years of relevant experience in investment banking finance (Tier 1 Banks preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of General Ledger accounting, Chart of Accounts design, and financial reporting systems.
  • ERP Knowledge: Hands-on experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS, Local GAAP, and financial regulations.
  • Financial Products: In-depth knowledge of bonds, derivatives, and other global markets products.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English; ability to communicate financial data effectively.
  • Excel & Finance Systems: Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with finance systems.
  • Ownership & Leadership: Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and take ownership of financial controls.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Product Control (though not mandatory, Financial Controllers are preferred).
  • Hands-on knowledge of month-end closing processes.
  • Exposure to data governance and financial transformation projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure investment banking environment.
