As the successful candidate, you will:

  1. Assist the Engineering Manager/Lead Mechanical Engineer with the delivery of project requirements.
  2. Prepare engineering calculations such as hydraulic calculations (including slurry calculations), piping stress analysis, line sizing, pump selection, tank sizing, and conveyor calculations.
  3. Manage and prepare mechanical equipment lists.
  4. Perform system analyses, establish user requirements, analyze system functional and performance requirements, define design criteria, and establish system layouts and designs.
  5. Lead preparation and/or review of project standard specifications and design criteria.
  6. Lead preparation of technical specifications packages and perform technical bid evaluations for procurement of mechanical equipment.
  7. Lead preparation of piping deliverables including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), piping material specifications, system layouts and designs, pipe support standards, and piping lists/MTOs.
  8. Work with and manage equipment vendors to develop designs to ensure project requirements are met.
  9. Prepare and contribute to technical reports and trade-off studies.
  10. Provide input to engineering, operating, and capital cost estimates.
  11. Prepare or provide input to 3D models and 2D mechanical/piping drawings.
  12. Participate in and contribute to design reviews.
  13. Assist with technical queries raised during the construction phase and commissioning of systems.

You bring to the role:

  1. Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years post-graduate experience.
  2. Demonstrated design and engineering experience in mining, metals, minerals processing, or heavy industry environment.
  3. Excellent attitude towards safety.
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Good planning and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to function with minimal supervision.
  7. Working knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes pertinent to the mechanical engineering discipline.
  8. Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate mechanical activities between disciplines.
  9. Sound knowledge of 3D data-centric design systems.
  10. Sound knowledge of engineering management systems.
  11. Experience with Mechanical software - e.g., AFT Fathom, Sidewinder.
  12. Experience in the use of procedures and workflows in the execution of projects.
  13. Ability to communicate in English and Polish.
