Category Purchaser

Main Responsibilities:
  • Execute procurement assignments for designated categories and suppliers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Oversee purchase orders for cost, quality, and delivery time, maintaining a competent and competitive supplier base.
  • Manage price agreements and item maintenance in our ERP system, collaborating with the global sourcing team and other functions.
  • Plan and execute annual price negotiations with defined suppliers, driving long-term cost savings and improving supply chain efficiency.
  • Develop supply strategies and action plans with the procurement team, prioritizing supplier quality, lead times, innovation, and cost.
  • Enhance the existing supplier base through cooperation with Category Management, focusing on delivery, quality, lead times, innovation, and cost.
  • Ensure supplier relationship management, supporting sales and cost-estimation functions in sales projects with cost-data and sourcing activities.
  • Implement defined strategies with selected vendors, staying updated on industry technological developments.
  • Actively seek and evaluate new suppliers, reviewing purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to Valmet policy.
  • Drive Cost Competitive Country (CCC) sourcing and manage inventory levels to support a healthy net working capital.
Requirements:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in engineering or commercial fields.
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role, with excellent analytical skills and ability to make swift, fact-based decisions.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to achieve results in a global matrix organization.
  • Proficiency in Windows environment (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP Systems (Infor LN competence is preferred).
  • Fluency in Polish and English, with other languages being an asset.
  • High level of commitment and proactive approach, with ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Driving license (B).
