EMEA Payroll Operations Specialist

About the Role
The Payroll Specialist EMEA will be part of the EMEA payroll team, responsible for supporting all operational payrolls for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Region. The scope of RELX EMEA Payroll includes all 5 divisions of RELX as well as any acquired companies. The successful candidate will support the accurate and timely processing of payrolls for all EMEA countries, in compliance with the applicable regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and timely review and submission of EMEA payroll data to meet payroll processing deadlines.
- Ensure adherence to all EMEA payroll processes and controls, ensuring fully compliant payroll operations across the region.
- Ensure timely completion of EMEA payroll payments, including relevant deductions for employment taxes, other statutory deductions, benefits and other items.
- Produce monthly payroll-related reconciliations and support GL delivery to all Finance partners.
- Assist the Head of Payroll EMEA in implementing the global payroll strategy for the region.
- Provide a best-in-class employee experience for payroll delivery.
- Own the resolution of payroll-related issues.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across RELX, notably Tax, Finance and Human Resources.
- Work closely with the payroll vendor to ensure delivery of all target SLAs and payroll deadlines.
- Coordinate the required administrative steps for EMEA payroll invoices and ensure timely approval and submission to Finance for payment.
Requirements:
- Experience and knowledge with 3 or more EMEA countries is required.
- Demonstrable experience of supporting EMEA payroll transformation projects is highly beneficial.
- Previous use of Workday and associated payroll integrations is desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, or related experience or discipline.
- Deep experience of EMEA payroll operations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of building personal networks.
