Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled individual with extensive knowledge of wind turbine construction to support the safe execution of our upcoming offshore wind farm projects. As an Environmental Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for providing leadership and promoting responsible attitudes towards environmental safety, implementing best practices, and contributing to the delivery of our overall environmental strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of our environmental safety plan daily, ensuring that we effectively plan, execute, and review our work activities from an environmental safety perspective.
  • Engage with and promote the use of Enablon as a reporting tool for environmental observations and proactive inspections, monitoring that reports are followed up and proportionate investigations are completed, and corrective/preventative actions are implemented where recommended.
  • Coordinate with action owners to achieve timely close-out of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and carry out analysis of environmental observations, actioning any identified trends through awareness schemes or other appropriate actions.
  • Participate in planning/coordination meetings to ensure works are safely interfaced with other operations on the site, communicate environmental focus topics to all stakeholders on the worksite, perform frequent site environmental walks and formalized inspections, and collaborate with technical functions and other HSE team members across the business to share learning and develop best practice.
  • Participate in environmental audits and assessments, both internal and external.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a recognized environmental safety qualification, e.g., National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) International General Certificate combined with at least 2 years of experience as an environmental safety professional in the field of wind turbine construction or maintenance. A higher-level professional qualification is desired. You will also need excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, high capability with MS office and cloud-based software, and a full category B driver's license.

Benefits

In return for your commitment, we offer a competitive salary of $120,000 per annum, plus additional benefits such as health insurance, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional development and growth. The position is field-based and will encompass rotation-based shifts, international travel will be required, and you will need to be fit to work offshore and comfortable working at height.
