Job Title: Big Data Architect

We are currently looking for a highly skilled Big Data Architect to join our innovative project at Eviden.

About the Role:
  • The ideal candidate will contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge data processing systems, focusing on Enterprise Architecture, particularly in the Data Architecture areas.

Eviden is supporting the digital transformation of the EU agency, resulting in highly visible outcomes for all EU institutions. Our team aims to create citizen-centric experiences with numerous innovative solutions that feed into the growing EU hub.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake technical design specifications to support sales opportunities and during the architectural phase of the project lifecycle related to Big Data.
  • Provide technical direction in a team designing and developing large-scale cluster data processing systems.
  • Guide the full architectural lifecycle of a Big Data solution, including requirements analysis, governance, capacity requirements, technical architecture design, application design, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with domain experts, data architects, solution architects, and analytics developers to define data models for streaming input and delivering analytics output.
  • Help internal partners develop strategies that maximize the value of their data.
Requirements:
  • At least 8 years of experience in the field.
  • Familiarity with the full architectural lifecycle of data processing systems.
  • Hadoop stack expertise (e.g., MapReduce, Sqoop, Pig, Hive, HBase, Flume, Spark, Kafka, Flink, Java).
  • Experience with delivering projects at production scale on Hadoop stacks or equivalent.
  • Strong background in developing and utilizing tools that prepare, extract, and manipulate data for analytics purposes.
  • ETL design experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Scala and Python.
  • Experience with cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud.
Preferred Skills:
  • Gitlab CI/CD, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Confident use of Kafka or Prefect.
