Senior Fund Accountant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our fund accounting department, you will be responsible for executing various tasks related to reconciliation, trade capture, corporate actions, and pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly NAV reconciliations, ensuring completion of specified tasks per NAV checklists.
  • Conduct cash, position, and market value reconciliations between HedgeServ, brokers, and clients.
  • Respond to client queries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Identify and investigate break items on reconciliations, liaising with brokers and clients to resolve issues.
  • Elevate fund accounting concerns and aged items to the Fund Accounting Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate positions, ensuring correct pricing.
  • Verify corporate actions to ensure proper processing.
  • Prepare daily profit and loss reports, reviewing them for reasonableness.
  • Calculate and process income and expense accruals, including fee calculations and trading accruals.
  • Adhere to HedgeServ's defined checklists, procedures, and controls.
  • Participate in audit processes as required.
  • Collaborate with internal service departments to resolve miscellaneous fund issues.
  • Meet pre-agreed internal and external deadlines consistently.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Legal, or Business.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within the funds industry (or alternative Hedge Fund experience).
  • Intention to actively pursue professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA) is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Proficiency in IT.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility and ability to work effectively within a team structure and independently.
  • Inter-personal skills.
  • Initiative and judgment in identifying when escalation is required.
  • Reliability, dependability, and commitment.
