Market Research Analyst for European AI and Automation

Overview

IDC's European Data, Analytics, AI, and Automation team is seeking a Research Analyst to contribute to the development, articulation, and driving of research across IDC's European AI and Automation research programs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in current and future AI and automation challenges and strategies that organizations are dealing with. They will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of how AI and automation technologies affect business outcomes and how technology dynamics will affect these outcomes in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the team by leading and growing IDC's market-leading research into AI and automation market trends.
  • Publish thought leadership research papers on various AI and automation topics, highlighting the implications for technology vendors and buyer organizations.
  • Provide insightful and relevant comments on industry events, particularly how related market trends impact AI and automation development and adoption.
  • Become a 'face' of IDC's coverage of AI and automation in Europe, presenting at IDC and external events.
  • Support the delivery of AI and automation market intelligence briefings for clients.
  • Contribute to and take ownership of consulting projects, responding to client inquiries, and collaborating on wider research documents.

Qualifications

  • A BA/BS college degree is required, with a preference towards a graduate-level MBA/MA/MS degree.
  • Previous experience related to market research, enterprise software, and/or business applications would be advantageous.
  • Practical knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies coupled with data analysis skills would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation communication skills, and the ability to write and deliver content to deadlines.
  • Fluency in written and oral English is required, and fluency in a second European language would be advantageous.

The role will involve limited travel, predominantly in Europe, and offers a dynamic international work environment with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
