Key Responsibilities for the Forecasting Planner – Manager Role

The Forecasting Planner – Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining statistical forecasts for the portfolio across all time horizons. This includes:

  • Ensuring statistical forecasts are created for the whole portfolio, considering demand drivers at the agreed hierarchy level
  • Researching demand drivers, preparing forecast data, and evaluating forecast performance
  • Monitoring and reporting on specific KPIs, such as forecast accuracy, forecast bias, MAPE, and forecast value add, at multiple levels and lags, and providing insights on contributing factors and improvement opportunities
  • Monitoring the performance of assigned portfolio, team capabilities, tools, and techniques
  • Guiding the team on scenario modeling, AI techniques, and data usage
  • For new product introductions, analyzing proposals of like-SKU and collaborating with Demand Planners to generate initial forecasts, considering cannibalization impacts
  • Optimizing and tuning statistical forecasts, updating system parameters after conducting necessary analysis to identify improvement opportunities
  • Tracking and monitoring changes to allow for continuous improvement

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, applied math, or other relevant degree
  • Strong understanding of advanced planning systems and its functionality, e.g., Kinaxis, o9 Solutions
  • Knowledge of ERP functionality, experience with SAP, Oracle, or JDE an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in Forecasting (Statistical Techniques, Collaboration Scenario Modeling, Parameters modeling)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional drive, excellent interpersonal skills, and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to immediately contribute in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of client focus
  • Strong work ethic and high attention to detail, with a desire to learn
