At Splunk Inc, we're committed to making machine data accessible, usable, and valuable to everyone. Our Data Manager team is a dynamic technology group that builds and manages an application for customers to configure Cloud Data Onboarding in minutes with a modern user experience and data source-specific best practices.

We're looking for a strong Python developer with experience working with at least one of the largest cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) to support the development of the key Splunk application used for data ingestion. You'll deal with challenges of ingesting and processing data at scale and in a reliable and real-time manner.

About the Role
  • You'll participate in the complete software development cycle: understanding requirements, designing, developing, testing, automating, and deploying software.
  • You'll identify and resolve pre-production system bottlenecks and production issues.
  • You'll engage in design and code reviews of the product and enhance your knowledge of customers' experiences to prevent future problems.
  • You'll make code maintainable and the product diagnosable and serviceable.
  • You'll participate in rotating on-call duties to diagnose and solve customer issues.
Requirements
  • Strong fundamentals in software engineering: data structures and algorithms.
  • Coding expertise in Python.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS or GCP.
  • Ability to lead complicated technical decisions and mentor other junior engineers.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills including the use of associated tools.
  • Experience with developing CI/CD systems, test automation frameworks.
  • Ability to document your work for the benefit of the team.
  • Knowledge of REST, grpc or similar communication paradigms.
  • Operational excellence: you think beyond feature delivery into how your code is serving customers in production.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Openness for learning new topics and people.
