The Role

We're seeking a Lead Backend Engineer/Senior II to join our international team developing digital products for the maritime industry. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, contribute to the overall technical direction, and shape the platform using client feedback and industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in development, working alongside other engineers to build-out our cutting-edge products.
  • Set and shape good practice across the backend ecosystem, leading technical discussions and decisions.
  • Take architectural ownership within the team and contribute to the overall technical direction of the platform.
  • Directly engage with the embedded product team to help shape the platform, utilizing direct client feedback and industry knowledge.
  • Lead your team to develop, test, and release new functions and features.
  • Responsible for unit testing code as well as conducting peer reviews.
  • Work in the Scrum framework.
  • Use Azure DevOps for backlog and repository management.
  • Collaborate effectively across a multi-disciplined team, interacting with Product, Architecture, and DevOps functions.

Requirements

  • Great understanding of English, both spoken and written (B2+).
  • Flexibility in adapting to change quickly.
  • Responsibility and ownership of application quality and team guidance.
  • Commitment and proactivity in acting and showing initiative.
  • Openness and willingness to cooperate with the team.

Core Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with .NET frameworks, ecosystem, and tooling.
  • Mastery of working with SQL databases, database design, performance querying, and tuning.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL technologies, especially CosmosDB, Redis.
  • Extensive experience in API design and build, both internal and externally-facing.
  • Deep knowledge of Security aspects of the tech stack and how best to implement these in modern development.
  • Experience with message queueing systems.
  • Deep knowledge of distributed and scalable application development, microservices, and containerization.
  • Extensive Azure Cloud knowledge and DevOps exposure.
  • Hands-on experience with building SaaS systems.
  • Mentoring and coaching skills and experience.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Salary and Benefits
