Role Overview

We're seeking an experienced Lead Backend Engineer to join our international team developing digital products for the maritime industry. As a key member of our technical leadership, you'll play a vital role in shaping our backend ecosystem and driving innovation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leverage your expertise to drive technical discussions and decisions, ensuring the right tooling and services are employed.
  • Take ownership of architectural development within the team and contribute to the overall technical direction of our platform.
  • Directly engage with the embedded product team to shape the platform using client feedback, industry knowledge, and data-driven evidence.
  • Lead your team in developing, testing, and releasing new functions and features.
  • Ensure high-quality code through unit testing and peer reviews.
  • Work within the Scrum framework and utilize Azure DevOps for backlog and repository management.
  • Foster effective collaboration across the multi-disciplined team, interacting with Product, Architecture, and DevOps functions.

Core Skills

  • Advanced .NET frameworks, ecosystem, and tooling expertise.
  • Mastery of working with SQL databases, proficiency in database design, performance querying, and tuning.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL technologies, especially CosmosDB and Redis.
  • Extensive experience in API design and build, both internal and externally-facing.
  • Deep understanding of Security aspects and best practices for modern development.
  • Experience with message queueing systems.
  • Deep knowledge of distributed and scalable application development, microservices, and containerization.
  • Extensive Azure Cloud knowledge and DevOps exposure.
  • Hands-on experience with building SaaS systems.
  • Mentoring and coaching skills and experience.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
