Job Title: Senior Data Analytics Team Lead

The Verisk team is seeking a Senior Data Analytics Team Lead to support our large team of actuaries and data analytics experts. This role will involve leading a team of analysts, communicating technical concepts, and promoting innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of analysts, developing, motivating, and empowering staff.
  • Communicate technical concepts to the team and business decision-makers.
  • Support creating an innovation culture and promote innovation.
  • Organize and assign work, considering team talents and balanced workloads.
  • Help staff define and understand their roles and contributions to the team and organizational strategy.
  • Understand and take ownership of business processes, recommending improvements in data management, error identification, quality control, process automation, or analytic techniques.
  • Create, modify, and execute computer programs to extract, transform, and summarize data.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to set goals for the team.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of work experience related to analysis and/or data management.
  • Practical knowledge of SQL and at least one programming language: Python, R, SAS, or other.
  • Experience in mentoring and overseeing junior colleagues.
  • Experience with large datasets and datasets of mixed quality.
  • Detail-oriented technical aptitude with strong logical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
