About the Role
We are seeking experienced Actuaries and professionals in the insurance industry to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the valuation and validation of insurance liabilities under Solvency II and IFRS17 for ERGO Group insurance companies.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of models and methods used, as well as assumptions made for insurance liability valuation, including an assessment of data sufficiency and quality.
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Life and Health insurance liabilities valuation and related IT solutions (e.g., Prophet).
- Conduct independent reviews (insurance liabilities valuation and validation, reinsurance arrangements, underwriting policy incl. ESG risks, local actuarial governance).
- Contribute to the Group Actuarial Function's annual report, supporting the Segment Actuarial Function on reserve adequacy, insurance liability valuation reliability, overall underwriting policy, reinsurance arrangement adequacy, and actuarial governance.
- Handle special tasks and ad-hoc requests, also in project and working groups, coordinating insurance liability valuation changes (IFRS17 and Solvency II).
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Degree in Mathematics, Economics, or Business Administration with a focus on finance, or comparable education.
- Willingness to travel abroad (twice per quarter, 2/3 days).
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the insurance industry in at least one of the following areas: risk management, actuarial, statistics, ALM.
- Desirable knowledge of IFRS17.
- Competence in providing technical guidance, very good communication skills, and strong team spirit.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, and high level of commitment.
- Ideal completion of actuarial professional education with extensive knowledge of valuation models for insurance liabilities and activities of the actuarial function of a primary insurer (Solvency II Directive, Delegated Regulation, and Guidelines on the valuation of technical provisions).
