Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator/Database Engineer to join our team at Vattenfall. As a key member of our Database Operations department, you will be responsible for delivering database solutions and services that meet our high standards of quality and reliability.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Designing and implementing database solutions using SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
  • Ensuring the security, availability, and performance of our database services
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Developing and maintaining documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Participating in incident, problem, and change management processes

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in database operations, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and international environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Several years of experience in database operations, with a strong focus on SQL Server and Oracle
  • Knowledge of additional features such as security, high availability, and monitoring/data analysis
  • Broad knowledge and experience of the surrounding technical infrastructure (server, storage, network) and security
  • Basic knowledge and experience of OS administration (Microsoft and Linux/Unix)
  • Knowledge of working with ITIL both theoretically and practically
  • Experience in leading/participating in incident, change, problem, and configuration management
  • Experience of participation/project work, with some project management skills
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written, along with Polish
