Vulnerability & Attack Surface Specialist Job Description

This role plays a crucial part in identifying, prioritizing, and communicating vulnerabilities and weaknesses in Knauf's digital infrastructure, ensuring timely remediation of findings based on identified risk. As part of the Global Cyber Defense Center, you will be responsible for ensuring comprehensive coverage of all assets through appropriate vulnerability scans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize vulnerabilities based on their risk to Knauf's operations.
  • Report vulnerabilities for remediation.
  • Track the effectiveness of remediation efforts using dashboards and reports, escalating issues as needed.
  • Provide regular updates on the vulnerability management program status through comprehensive status reports and metrics.
  • Knauf's attack surface, evaluating newly discovered assets with weaknesses or vulnerabilities, to identify risks and develop remediation plans.
  • Recommend improvements to the vulnerability management program, including scan frequency, remediation timelines, and scanning technology, through staying informed of industry trends and participating in professional communities, events, and conferences.

Requirements:

  • You possess knowledge and understanding of complex IT systems architecture, including network technologies, software, hardware, middleware, and cloud infrastructure.
  • You have experience with vulnerability scanning tools, attack surface management tools/services, and understanding administration of IT components.
  • You are knowledgeable about various security vulnerabilities and weaknesses and can translate technical problems into business risks.
  • You understand secure software development, testing principles, and IT service management processes.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or security engineering in an international, large-scale organization.
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or Systems Engineering, or the equivalent of 3+ years of experience in Information Security.
  • You excel at team collaboration and working in a diverse, multicultural environment with English as the primary language.
