Transforming Global Trade with Caterpillar

Caterpillar is seeking a Tariff Classification Specialist to join our trade compliance team in Sosnowiec. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of classification processes for our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign Tariff Classification: You will be responsible for assigning accurate Tariff Classification for Caterpillar lines of products, parts, and associated goods moving across borders.
  • Impact Trade Programs: You will identify and impact the admissibility of goods into destination countries, duties owed, quotas, special trade program eligibility, sanctions, and more.
  • Apply Tariff Classification: You will provide and apply accurate Import and Export Tariff Classification using Harmonized Tariff Schedules and other relevant regulations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work closely with other divisions, including Engineering, Purchasing, and Logistics, to ensure the effectiveness of processes.
  • Customer Interaction: You will have regular contact with requestors and external customers to provide expert guidance and support.

Requirements:

  • Strong Analytical Skills: You will have excellent analytical skills to transform numerical data into actionable insights.
  • Technical Knowledge: You will have knowledge of technical drawings and specifications.
  • Effective Communication: You will have excellent communication skills in English and Polish.
  • Blueprint Reading: You will be able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
  • Open-Minded Personality: You will have an open-minded personality and be willing to learn and adapt.
