Job Title: Senior Operational Buyer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Operational Buyer to join our Global Sourcing team at Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. As a key member of our Supply Chain Management team, you will be responsible for negotiating and issuing global purchase orders and contracts.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems that may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
  • Request quotations through RFQ/RFP and other methods, conduct risk assessments, negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms and conditions aligned to our standards for materials, equipment, components, and services for assigned commodities.
  • Manage the procure-to-pay process from engagement through to purchase order issuance and ensuring payment.
  • Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders.
  • Proactively monitor confirmations of purchase orders from suppliers.
  • Proactively manage on-time deliveries (and associated risks) in due coordination with suppliers and internal clients/requisitioners (plants, projects).
  • Resolve issues related to purchase orders and invoices in due coordination with Accounts Payable.
  • Manage the creation of new vendors in the Approved Supplier List in due coordination with the Commercial pillar to ensure compliance with sourcing strategies.
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials, plan, and share with Buyers.
  • Closely collaborate with internal customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive cost savings and reductions.
  • Conduct risk analysis of selected suppliers considering material cost trends and capacity constraints.
  • Facilitate contract change activities (including change requests, amendments, orders, renewals, termination notices).
  • Negotiate resolution of scope or cost increases, net terms, supplier claims, and disputes.
  • Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships and ensure good communications.
  • Execute implementation of our supply chain strategies.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior supply chain professionals (Buyers).
  • Attend meetings and update others on issues or concerns, particularly when there is a risk that could prevent the organization from meeting customer demands or where there are over-capacity concerns.
  • Coordinate daily work in accordance with volume and plant requirements.
  • Actively contribute to process and systems improvements identification and implementation.
  • Support and promote a culture where a high quality of work is the norm.
Requirements:
  • BA in Supply Chain, Business, or similar.
  • Track record: minimum 3 years of experience in a corporate environment, ideally in operational areas (supply chain, nuclear, or highly technical areas).
  • Fluency (written and spoken) in English. Language ability is critical when interfacing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Very good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Proficient use of SAP or equivalent ERP system is required.
  • Data analytical and reporting skills with an eye for details.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and proactively identify and solve issues.
  • Knowledge of procurement end-to-end processes, such as P2P (Procure to Pay), Record to Report, Order to Cash, Make to Order/Manufacture.
  • Experience in making decisions required to deliver expected services with quality and on time.
  • Experience in setting priorities, informing on risks, and when appropriate making decisions.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, solution orientation, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, and PowerPoint is desirable.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, or distribution of equipment and associated suppliers is desirable.
