Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Setapp. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with data analysts and engineers to solve complex data-related problems.
  • Lead the full lifecycle of data engineering deliverables, from ideation to production.
  • Develop and implement complex data flows to process external data sources, providing a competitive edge for our company.
  • Act as a consultant to the business, meeting their needs and providing expert guidance.
  • Maintain existing data solutions to ensure reliability and high data quality, maximizing the utility of data within the business.
  • Innovate by recommending opportunities to improve data engineering tooling and processes.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to more junior colleagues.
  • Lead workshops to knowledge share and upskill colleagues in both technical and business domains.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in Data Engineering.
  • Expertise in Azure and Databricks Data Platform technology stacks, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Functions.
  • Proficient in data modeling techniques relevant to Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence contexts, such as Kimball and Data Vault.
  • Strong understanding of business requirements and ability to translate them into technical deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to tight delivery timescales and adapt to new information in a remote team setting.
  • Proven experience in developing optimal and reliable ETL processes to ingest and process data from various sources, both structured and unstructured, in cloud environments.
  • Experience in maintaining and supporting existing data solutions in Production environments, identifying improvement opportunities, investigating and resolving incidents, and monitoring to ensure SLAs are met.
