Senior Solar Engineering Specialist

Our Renewables team in Germany, Poland, and Hungary seeks a highly skilled professional to drive the design and development of utility-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design solar PV projects from conception to full planning submission status.
  • Utilize industry-standard software to progress technical design work from preliminary to detail level.
  • Define technical parameters and specifications for main components.
  • Ensure design compliance with industry codes and standards, incorporating feedback from Construction and Operations.
  • Support the preparation of post-construction documentation.
  • Provide expertise during project development and implementation, both remotely and on-site.
  • Conduct initial yield assessments of potential solar sites.
  • Support technical due diligence as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Renewables team, comprising developers, engineers, project managers, contract managers, offtake managers, market analysts, and strategy analysts, as well as external partners.
Your Profile
  • University degree in Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Renewables.
  • Proven track record in business transformation or operational excellence.
  • Creative and open-minded individual with a good sense of humor.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record of international work experience and appreciation of cultural differences.
  • Preferred primary office location in Düsseldorf and/or Berlin, but other Uniper locations are feasible as well (UK, Italy, Hungary, Poland, France, Sweden). The role can also be predominantly home office-based.
  • Business fluency in English.
