Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in maximizing cash collections by enforcing payment terms and collecting past due receivables. This position reports to the Receivables Team Lead and is responsible for maintaining a working relationship with Motorola customers, recognizing risks associated with managed accounts, and monitoring activity of accounts portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and approval authorities to ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain working relationships with Motorola customers and recognize risks associated with managed accounts.
  • Monitor activity of accounts portfolio and contact customers regarding late payments.
  • Determine the appropriate method to collect payment against delinquent accounts and resolve customer disputes pertaining to billing and collection.
  • Make recommendations regarding the use of 3rd party assistance to collect debts.
  • Assist credit analysts in setting credit limits and may also assist in the product return process.
  • Review delinquent accounts with upper management.
  • Provide regular collection forecast reports to finance.
  • Assist in write-offs, legal claims, and monitor customer bankruptcy proceedings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economy, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Excellent English and Spanish skills.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the collection/customer service function in a multinational environment.
  • Willingness to work US hours (mixed shift).
  • Demonstrated ability to support team efforts as a team member.
  • Ability to develop professional expertise.
  • Ability to enforce payment terms and collect money from customers.
  • Very strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
