A Competitive SalaryWe offer an attractive salary package to qualified candidates, with a competitive base salary of approximately €80,000 - €110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
Job DescriptionThe Power Electronics team at Hitachi Energy is looking for a skilled Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join their Krakow-based team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new breakthrough modular converter platforms based on wide bandgap semiconductors (e.g., SiC) for a range of grid and DC applications.
- Develop and implement new ideas from concept generation through simulation, circuit design, prototyping, and verification;
- Design, prototype, and test electronic circuits for use in power electronic converters;
- Responsible for PCBA development and layout for analog and digital circuits, including high-current (heavy copper) PCBA;
- Support a fast, iterative design process in a cross-functional, dedicated team using fast prototyping and lab mockups to close learning loops and achieve results quickly;
- B uild up and maintain measurement and test setups to verify performance, efficiency, and robustness;
- Contribute to solving technical challenges related to EMC/EMI, thermal management, and safety.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or comparable, and at least 5 years of professional experience in designing electronic circuits, preferably analog electronics, gate drivers, or power electronics circuits;
- Proven experience with development processes for power electronic converters or power supplies, and are competent with working with laboratory equipment and converter prototyping and testing;
- Experience with simulation tools like Spice, SIMetrix, Simulink, or PLECS and/or understanding of control theory for power electronics applications;
- A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies;
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
