About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Tech Pubs Team Director to lead our Technical Communications group at Imagination Technologies.

As Director of Technical Publications, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality documentation to support our consumer and automotive products. You will work closely with subject matter experts across the organization, using review and tracking mechanisms to ensure timely and accurate delivery of documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a clear vision and strategy for the technical publications department in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the evolving needs of our clients and ensure that technical documentation addresses these requirements effectively.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of technical writers and publication specialists, providing guidance and constructive feedback to ensure their professional growth and enhance their capabilities to produce high-quality documentation.
  • Oversee the creation, review, and maintenance of all technical publications, ensuring accuracy, organization, and clarity in documentation.
  • Implement and maintain a rigorous quality assurance process to ensure technical accuracy and consistency in all documentation.
  • Optimize User Experience by continuously improving the usability and accessibility of technical publications, collaborating with the UX/UI design team to incorporate user-friendly visuals and interactive elements.
  • Develop and adhere to documentation standards and best practices to maintain consistency across all publications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with product development, engineering, and marketing teams to gather information and insights about product features, updates, and usage scenarios, ensuring accurate representation of product information in technical documentation.

About You

This role is ideal for a motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in technical writing, documentation management, and leadership. You will have a degree in a relevant engineering discipline or a qualification in information development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality documentation and leading teams to achieve exceptional results.

You will be an excellent communicator, listener, and collaborator, with a passion for innovation, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional results. You will have experience in using drawing applications, modular documentation formats, documentation standards, and revision control systems, and be proficient in documentation tools such as Adobe FrameMaker.
