As a Field Service Senior Service Engineer Propulsion, you will become part of Wärtsilä's Shaft Line Solutions (SLS) organization, which is responsible for delivering services to Wärtsilä's global customer base. SLS is a growing organization with over 120 dedicated professionals worldwide, with priorities to stay safe, keep customers happy, and have fun.

You will be responsible for delivering a wide range of services on various products, supporting a global install base of over 30,000 vessels. You will be based in Gdańsk, Poland, and be part of a team responsible for SLS Field Service in Europe.

Your Main Responsibilities:

  1. Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan.
  2. Perform overhauls and repairs on assemblies on site and/or in workshops.
  3. Interact professionally with customers during work execution.
  4. Perform internal and external progress status of assigned work.
  5. Create Service Work Reports.
  6. Ensure work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
  7. Follow-up and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders.
  8. Continuously seek solutions according to best practices.

Main Requirements:

  1. A safety-first mindset.
  2. You are passionate about developing SLS E2E-business to the next level.
  3. Marine or Mechanical Engineering graduate and qualifications as a combination of maritime education and experience.
  4. Technical experience in marine engineering with practical problem-solving skills.
  5. Proven experience of installation operation, maintenance, and repair.
  6. Highly effective technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. Interact professionally and deliver solutions to customers during the work execution.
  8. Experience in propulsion shaft alignment and Stern Tube Bearings is beneficial.
  9. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  10. Fluent Polish along with strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
  11. Will and ability to travel.
  12. Completed military service.

Your Success Will Be Measured By:

  1. Order intake, net sales, and EBIT for SLS.
  2. KPIs set by FS Manager and FS Area Manager EUAF.
