The role of a SQL Server DBA at Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is critical in delivering high-quality database administration services for SQL Server environments. The primary focus area for this position will be to work as a skilled database administrator, requiring significant technical expertise in designing, building, tuning, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and managing databases for SQL Server.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough reviews, testing, and recommendations for upgrading database software, including patches and major releases.
  • Perform periodic backup and recovery of databases as required, ensuring seamless continuity.
  • Upgrade, configure, and maintain server and database monitoring tools to baseline system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Develop and document comprehensive disaster recovery/business continuity plans for key production servers.
  • Modify database structures as necessary, based on input from application developers.
  • Create detailed documentation for all procedures and systems.
  • Manage user access to the database, ensuring robust security and enforcement measures.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of proven experience in complex SQL Server database environments.
  • Experience with SQL Server standalone and clustered environments.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
  • Proven expertise in executing all aspects of database administration on current technologies.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for critical database, networking, and system administration issues.
  • Critical thinking skills, ability to accurately analyze information, and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to handle diverse situations and rapidly changing priorities with deadlines.
Salary and Benefits
