Job Title: Technical Support Specialist

IG Group is seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our Desktop Services team. As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing on-site and remote support to our users, resolving incidents and service requests, and proactively looking for ways to improve processes and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage incidents and service requests via phone, email, Teams, and ServiceNow.
  • Troubleshoot incidents escalated by the service desk and resolve them upon first contact where possible.
  • Accurately record and document all details of the incident or service request, including categorization and priority into ServiceNow.
  • Work within the Poland-based Desktop Services team to support the EMEA region, with various aspects of the role supporting the company globally when needed.
  • Determine the severity of the issue with regard to business impact and technical complexity.
  • Support a range of technology used within the desktop environment, including Microsoft, Apple, and bespoke applications.
  • Day-to-day tasks will involve various aspects of EMEA and global support, including AD management, workstation application testing, deployment, and maintenance, print management, patching, rollouts, video conferencing, and servers and software that support these functions.
  • Provide remote access/VPN support.
  • Build relationships with escalation teams to ensure that IT-delivered services and end-user productivity goals are understood and met or exceeded.
  • Be an advocate for the end user to ensure they receive high-quality and timely service and support from the entire IT organization.

Requirements:

  • Eager to learn and quick to learn.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in financial products.
  • Windows desktop infrastructure experience within a large financial organization.
  • Active Directory administrative experience within a medium/large organization.
  • Application deployment and maintenance experience, including testing and documentation.
  • Practical understanding of computer hardware and software.
  • Experience working with Call logging systems ServiceNow.
  • Experience of Java in a desktop environment.
  • Self-organized.
  • Ability to follow procedures and guidance.
  • Understanding of the role of Desktop Services in an organization.
  • Graduate level or equivalent.

Desirable Skills:

  • Supporting a mobile workforce within a secure enterprise environment.
  • Experience of general administration of Office or similar.
  • Experience of supporting directors and senior management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra suite.
  • Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) or similar enterprise software delivery and management application.
  • Experience with JAMF.
  • Familiar with market data platforms like Reuters and Bloomberg.
  • Endpoint protection products, including DLP.
  • Experience with Video Conference solutions Logitech/Poly and presentation systems.
  • Windows and MacOS support.
  • Mobile Device support.
  • VPN support Zscaler.
  • A strong interest in computers and technology outside of work.
  • Microsoft Certified.
  • MCP/MCSA or Network Plus.
