Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Raffles Europejski Warsaw. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in managing daily operations, maintaining high standards of quality, and leading a team of talented chefs.
Your Key Responsibilities
- To consistently deliver professional, friendly, and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues in achieving excellent results.
- Co-management and training of kitchen staff, scheduling of work, and evaluation of staff performance to ensure seamless operations.
- To ensure that the kitchen operates efficiently and effectively, meeting Raffles quality standards at all times.
- To produce high-quality dishes both design and taste-wise, showcasing your creativity and attention to detail.
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures to maintain consistency and excellence.
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions to minimize disruption.
- To fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary, taking charge of menu development and inventory management.
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation, prioritizing the needs of our guests and colleagues.
- To order supplies to stock inventory appropriately, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
- To balance operational, administrative, and Colleagues' needs, making informed decisions to drive success.
- To follow kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards, upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage, maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Previous leadership experience as Junior Sous Chef required.
- Diploma Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset.
- Good command of Polish and English.
- Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
- Proven track record of cost control including food, equipment, labour, and wastage to meet food quality goals and the hotel's financial objectives.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly responsible & reliable.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
