R&D Procurement Manager Role Overview

This is a pivotal role in the Global Evidence Generation teams, responsible for category management, including sourcing and contract management. The Evidence Generation category covers fee-for-service outsourcing aligned with our Value Evidence and Outcomes (VEO) and Epidemiology teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support Global Medical categories
  • Develop strategies with the Chief Patient Officer stakeholders
  • Be responsible for contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and maintenance
  • Work across multiple countries and business units, requiring high cultural awareness
  • Establish strong partnerships with Business Owners and Suppliers
  • Proactively liaise with functional groups to determine scope of category services and suitability of suppliers
  • Implement and support procurement strategies to maximise supplier leverage
  • Gain significant external supplier knowledge
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce non-value-added work

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement category management
  • Proven negotiations and contract management skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in English
  • University degree

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of R&D Procurement and/or Evidence Generation
  • Experience of procurement lifecycle management systems
  • Experience of effective Supplier Relationship Management
  • Experience of running international sourcing processes
