The successful Fund Accountant will be responsible for executing key tasks within the fund accounting or net asset value department. They will adhere to established guidelines and procedures while collaborating closely with supervisors and managers. The core duties include reconciliation, trade capture, corporate action processing, and pricing, all performed with accuracy and efficiency. Fund accountants will also participate in regular training sessions, including induction, compulsory AML/KYC training, and client-specific guidance provided by the NAV supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the production team to deliver daily, weekly, and monthly net asset value reports, ensuring timely completion of specified tasks per NAV checklists
  • Perform cash, position, and market value reconciliations between HedgeServ Ltd, brokers, and clients
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies on reconciliations in a prompt manner
  • Elevate fund accounting issues and aged items to the Fund Accounting Supervisor
  • Verify corporate actions to ensure accurate processing
  • Prepare daily profit and loss reports and review for reasonableness
  • Calculate and process income and expense accruals, including fee calculations and trading accruals
  • Adhere to HedgeServ Ltd's defined checklists, procedures, and controls
  • Support the audit process if required
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve miscellaneous fund-related issues
  • Ensure adherence to pre-agreed deadlines for both internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or Business
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a similar role within the funds industry
  • Intent to pursue professional accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA) is beneficial but not mandatory
  • Strong IT literacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively within teams
  • Good judgment and initiative in identifying when escalation is necessary
  • Reliability, dependability, and strong commitment to designated tasks
