About the Role

A successful Fund Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall NAV calculation process within our established guidelines and procedures. This role requires close collaboration with senior management and directors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of NAV calculations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to develop strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage client relationships and ensure consistent service delivery through effective interaction with clients and senior management.
  • Develop and maintain a clearly defined control environment for the assigned fund accounting team.
  • Lead and manage client teams of up to 10 employees, providing guidance and development opportunities.
  • Resolve escalated fund accounting queries from Assistant Managers or Supervisors.
  • Ensure all aged items on cash and position reconciliations are resolved promptly.
  • Review daily and monthly NAV calculations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Develop and enhance NAV calculation workflows and procedures to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Review fee calculations and profit and loss allocations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and review monthly, yearly, and inception-to-date performance metrics.
  • Oversee the audit process, ensuring timely and successful completion of fund audits, including preparation of fund financial statements.
  • Investigate accounting implications of new products and services.
  • Manage client initialization and transition processes.
  • Contribute to the development and presentation of fund accounting training programs.
  • Manage fund accounting recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Address exceptional problems and take on special projects or tasks as assigned.
  • Handle complex client inquiries and provide clear, concise responses.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Investor Services, Quality Assurance, Client Servicing, and Compliance departments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance.
  • At least 6 years of experience in hedge fund administration, with at least 1 year at an Assistant Manager level.
  • Accounting, finance, legal, or business degree.
  • Possession of or willingness to pursue a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA).
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team structure or independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good initiative and ability to identify when escalation is required.
