At CD PROJEKT RED, we're on the hunt for a talented Senior Cinematic Designer to join our Warsaw team and contribute to the ongoing development of Polaris - the first game in a new Witcher series saga.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional with expertise in crafting engaging interactive scenes and cutscenes using advanced animation libraries and motion capture technology. As a key member of our Cinematics team, you'll collaborate with industry-leading storytellers to produce visually stunning scenes that leave a lasting impact on our players.

You will be responsible for creating compelling scenes with excellent pacing, acting, cinematography, editing, and timing. Effective communication with Designers, other departments, and Leads is essential to improve visual storytelling readability and establish perfect continuity between story and gameplay.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging scenes with outstanding pacing, acting, cinematography, editing, and timing.
  • Communicate with Designers, other departments, and Leads to enhance visual storytelling and ensure seamless story-gameplay integration.
  • Set up actor staging and cameras.
  • Maintain high-quality work completion within set timelines.
  • Adhere to pipelines and technical requirements.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess a deep understanding of what drives great storytelling and how to leverage creative means to craft memorable scenes and sequences. A perfect grasp of acting, including posing and timing, as well as knowledge of cinematography and editing are essential. Additionally, experience directing and/or acting, working with screenplays, and contributing to AAA games development projects from inception to completion are highly valued.

Key Requirements:

  • A profound comprehension of storytelling principles and their application in scene creation.
  • Superior knowledge of acting, including posing and timing.
  • Excellent skills in cinematography and editing.
  • Proven experience in directing and/or acting.
  • Experience working with screenplays.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in AAA games development, specifically in long-form projects from inception to completion.
  • Self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal (preferably), Unity, Godot, or REDkit.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to company-specific software.
