About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect to join our team at William Hill. As a key member of our Architecture team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing architectural frameworks for our web and mobile-based applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with peers to define the Architecture strategy for the business unit, considering current and future requirements.
  • Ensure assigned projects follow the overall architectural strategy and processes, and design and implement end-to-end solutions.
  • Lead and participate in architectural reviews of software, infrastructure, data, and other architectures.
  • Verify the implementation of assigned projects, ensuring the delivered system is consistent with the agreed architecture and meets requirements.
  • Ensure all IS systems meet processing, storage, and network capacity and performance requirements, in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Responsible for the completeness of all project architectural and design documentation.
  • Assist with development and implementation of processes, standards, and best practices for operational support teams.
  • Work in partnership with project managers, development managers, and developers to ensure teams can realize the architecture.
Requirements
  • Experience in an Application/Solutions Architecture role for high-volume, low-latency applications in mission-critical systems.
  • Broad understanding of technologies and frameworks such as Java, SpringBoot, JavaScript, TypeScript, nodejs, React, ActiveMQ, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL).
  • Good understanding of architectural design principles, particularly Micro-service architecture, and IT system environments, operating systems, networking, applications, and databases.
  • Experience of working with 3rd party development partners, remote and/or co-located.
