About This Role

Operations Research - Flight Operations

We are looking for an experienced professional to join our Operations Research Team, where you will have the opportunity to implement optimisation engines within the context of flight operations. The role involves working with airline processes to set up reports that explain cause and effect to customers in the context of parameter changes requested.

The Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Interpreting business requirements and converting them into parameters understandable by a mathematical engine.
  • Walking through airline processes and how an optimization engine will fit into their overall picture.
  • Setting up reports to explain cause and effect to customers in the context of the parameter changes requested.
  • Writing Python scripts to help collate data and draw insights on optimization.
  • Explaining the output of optimization engines in a way that highlights cause and effect.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a highly skilled candidate with a strong understanding of airline processes specific to either Crew Planning or Disruption Management. Previous experience with optimization engines in an airline context is also required.

Bonus Points

  • Bachelor's (with Honours) or higher in Operations Research, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a similar field.
  • Knowledge of large-scale integer programming software such as Gurobi or CPLEX (or equivalent).
  • Python scripting ability.
