Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Database Optimization Expert to join our team at Stats Perform. As a key member of our database engineering group, you will be responsible for designing, building, and managing both on-prem and cloud database environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Management of Database Environments

Design, build, and manage both on-prem and cloud database environments to support our clients' needs.

Performance Tuning and Optimization

Optimize database performance, security, and availability across large-scale systems to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.

Collaboration and Automation

Collaborate with service operations to prototype and deliver rock-solid solutions that meet our clients' requirements. Automate repetitive tasks using Python or Shell scripting to increase productivity and reduce errors.

Best Practices and Emerging Technologies

Define and champion best practices across MySQL, Redshift, and PostgreSQL. Stay ahead of the curve with emerging cloud and open-source technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.

Requirements

  • Proven Experience in Database Systems

Proven experience in designing, administering, and tuning critical database systems is essential for this role.

Deep MySQL Expertise

Deep expertise in MySQL is required, with bonus points if you've also worked with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar databases.

Strong Linux Skills

A strong command of Linux is necessary for database support.

Scripting Skills

Solid scripting skills in Shell or Python are required for automating tasks and improving productivity.

Cloud Platform Experience

Experience working with AWS or similar cloud platforms is highly desirable.

Growth Mindset

A growth mindset is essential for this role, as you'll need to be curious, adaptable, and eager to learn about emerging technologies and best practices.

Infrastructure-as-Code Tools

Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins is an added advantage.
