About the Opportunity

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to fill the role of Manager Mechanical Engineering for Mechanical Development of eDrive Systems, including eMotor and gearbox.

This position involves leading a team of engineers across Europe to design, simulate, develop, and validate advanced mechanical components and systems for electric drive units. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a high-performance team culture, implementing timely delivery and adherence to quality standards, and focusing on developing the organization's capabilities and supporting strong business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Lead, guide, and develop teams of mechanical development engineers in the development of eDrive systems, encompassing eMotors, gearboxes, and their mechanical integration together with Inverter in Europe.
  • Technical Oversight: Implement BorgWarner PDP (Product Development Process) and Engineering Development Framework (EDF), and work with the team on continuous improvement of processes, methods, and tools, and maintaining a lean and efficient structure.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Develop an open and collaborative team culture, ensuring global strong cooperation with mechanical engineering teams at other technical centers globally and other disciplines.
  • Innovation and Problem Solving: Drive innovation in mechanical design to enhance the performance and efficiency of eDrive systems.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in mechanical design and development within the automotive or related industry.
  • Management skills: Excellent management skills, strong ability to assess and mitigate product and organizational risks.
Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong knowledge and experience in developing eMotors, gearboxes, and their mechanical integration
  • English language skills on level C1
